THE ACTIVITIES OF THE KAMIANETS-PODILSKY (FROM 1954 - KHMELNYTSYI) REGIONAL INSTITUTE FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF TEACHER QUALIFICATIONS IN THE RESTRUCTURING OF BIOLOGY TEACHING IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE 40s - BEGINNING OF THE 50s OF THE 20th CENTURY

Abstract

Based on the analysis of archival documents, the article reveals the main vectors of the organizational and methodical work of the Institute for Improving the Qualifications of Teachers on the restructuring of biology teaching in accordance with the decision of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (August 1948). Active activities on changes in the teaching of natural science and biology, as well as educational programs, textbooks, training and improvement of teachers’ qualifications, have begun. The Kamianets-Podilskyi Institute for Improving the Qualifications of Teachers held meetings with heads of pedagogical offices, school principals, as well as seminars for natural science and biology teachers of primary, seventh-grade, and secondary schools. The employees of the Institute continued to systematically provide consultations, helped to adjust programs, developed methodical recommendations and guidelines for the bush methodical associations of subject commissions of biology teachers. Changes were implemented in the teaching of natural science and biology. Changes were implemented in the teaching of natural science and biology. For this purpose, traditional forms of work (meetings, seminars, methodical associations), the newspaper «Soviet Podillya», other mass media, pedagogical and agricultural exhibitions were used.
