The article examines the theoretical foundations and practical approaches to the formation of soft skills in students in the context of modern labor market requirements and educational standards. The concept of «soft skills» and its semantic content in pedagogical discourse is analyzed in detail. The importance of soft skills for personal and professional growth of students is revealed. The main groups of soft skills that are priorities for formation in the modern educational process are characterized: communication skills, critical thinking, teamwork, emotional intelligence, adaptability, problem-solving, and leadership skills. The priority of educational methodology tasks in forming these competencies is substantiated. A system of practically oriented methods and forms for developing soft skills in students is proposed: project activities, discussions, debates, role-playing games, case methods, trainings, volunteer activities, and others. The possibilities of integrating the formation of soft skills into the educational process of educational institutions are examined. Examples of practical implementation of the proposed approaches are given. The conclusion is drawn about the necessity of a systematic and purposeful approach to the formation of soft skills in students as a key task of modern educational methodology. The study demonstrates that effective formation of soft skills requires consistent integration into the educational process, creation of appropriate pedagogical conditions, and application of active teaching methods. The authors emphasize that the formation of soft skills should be considered not as an addition to academic education, but as its fundamental component, ensuring the comprehensive development of the individual and readiness for life in a changing society. Recommendations are provided for teachers and administrators of educational institutions regarding the practical implementation of educational activities aimed at developing soft skills in students of different age groups.
