THE DEVELOPMENT OF LEADERSHIP AMONG STUDENTS IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBALIZATION: THE ROLE OF PATRIOTIC VALUES

This article provides a theoretical justification of the characteristics of leadership development among students in the context of globalization through the lens of patriotic values. The relevance of the study stems from contemporary transformations in the educational landscape, characterized by the internationalization of education, the development of academic mobility, the digitization of the educational process, and increasing demands for the development of global competencies.
The article analyzes contemporary scientific approaches to interpreting leadership as an integral personal quality encompassing the ability to organize activities, make responsible decisions, interact effectively, and influence the social environment. The main types of leadership—specifically social, educational, and transformational—are identified, and their significance in shaping an active individual in a globalized society is substantiated.
The influence of globalization processes on the formation of leadership qualities is revealed, particularly through the development of intercultural communication, soft skills, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic social environment. At the same time, attention is focused on the risks associated with the erosion of national identity, which necessitates strengthening the values-based component of the educational process.
The role of patriotic values as a key factor in the development of leadership, which fosters civic responsibility, national identity, and social engagement, has been substantiated. The structure of patriotic values (cognitive, emotional-value, and activity components) and their significance in the development of leadership qualities have been identified.
It is demonstrated that the integration of patriotic values into the content of educational components and extracurricular activities contributes to the formation of a socially responsible leader capable of combining global thinking with national values. The necessity of harmoniously combining global educational trends and national-patriotic education is emphasized as an important condition for the effective development of leadership in the modern educational environment.
