Abstract

In the article it was proved that the current social context of development necessitates a fundamental reassessment of the content and approaches to the legal education of individuals. On both global and societal levels, the relevance of this research is driven by the challenges of contemporary society and the growing need for the effective application of legal competencies – both within one’s own country and abroad. A key aspect in this regard is the close cooperation between all educational institutions involved in upbringing: the family, preschool institutions, schools, higher education institutions, and out-of-school institutions. Only through coordinated, systematic, and consistent efforts can the complex process of human development – particularly legal education – achieve meaningful results.

The purpose of this article is to define the content and specificity of interaction between the family and educational institutions in shaping legal literacy and legal awareness among children and youth.

Based on the research of contemporary scholars, the article attempts to outline the objectives of legal education for children and youth in today’s context. For the process of developing students’ legal literacy through cooperation between families and educational institutions to be effective, it is essential that parents and educators implement a variety of educational activities, which are presented in the article. These forms aim to create a unified legal-educational environment in which the child perceives a consistent and coordinated stance from adults, thereby developing stable ideas about law and justice and fostering legal consciousness.

In today’s context, legal education must be understood in its broadest sense, considering the processes currently observed in society that significantly impact the lives of all citizens. Among these are war, migration, demographic losses, and the disruption of the traditional way of life for families and individuals.

The article concludes that legal education remains a pressing issue for the collaborative efforts of families and educational institutions.
