A systematic analysis of the current state of research into the problem of shaping project and technological competence for future technology teachers has been carried out; the essence, criteria, indicators and levels of formation of project and technological competence have been revealed; the structure, content, and functions of design as a means of shaping project and technological competence of future technology teachers are defined; the essence of the concepts of «project and technological competence of future technology teachers» and «formation of project and technological competence of an individual» as a phenomenon related to the professional training of a future teacher of labor training is clarified.
The essence of the theory and practice of project activities and the project method of teaching is analyzed; the theoretical foundations of pedagogical design are specified. The main directions for solving the problem of a comprehensive approach to the effective organization of a technological practical are outlined.
It has been proven that the shaping of project and technological competence of future labor training teachers in Universities requires the improvement of teaching methods, which can guarantee the achievement of the goals of professional training of future technology teachers; the discipline «Technological Practicum» is an integral part and form of organization of a professionally oriented educational process.
