GPT ONLINECORRECTOR AS A DIGITAL TOOL FOR THE FORMATION OF LINGUISTIC AND LITERARY COMPETENCIES OF UKRAINIAN PHILOLOGY MASTERS

Abstract

The article provides an overview of the possibilities and scenarios for using the digital tool GPT OnlineCorrector for the formation of linguistic and literary competencies of masters of Ukrainian philology. The author highlights the experimentally identified advantages and disadvantages of using GPT OnlineCorrector during lectures, practical classes and students’ independent preparation for them. The studied digital tool contains significant didactic and methodological potential for the formation of a linguistic personality in the context of the modern educational paradigm. The shortcomings and errors of the digital tool mentioned in the article are evidence that the chatbot is still actively developing and, despite its appearance less than a year ago, is already demonstrating significant results, although it has not yet reached the peak of its functional capabilities. During the research, it was discovered that the interaction of students and teachers with this digital tool is possible exclusively in Ukrainian, although an affirmative answer was received to the request about GPT OnlineCorrector’s understanding of English. The currently available research and publications on the use of artificial intelligence during foreign language training of masters of philology were analyzed. At the same time, it is important to emphasize that the effective implementation of GPT OnlineCorrector in the educational process requires an appropriate level of digital competencies for both teachers and students, as well as the adaptation of traditional teaching methods to the new conditions of interaction with GPT OnlineCorrector. The issue of the use of this chatbot by masters of Ukrainian philology remains insufficiently researched and requires further development. It should be noted that GPT OnlineCorrector is an easy-to-use tool that can become a powerful base for the digital transformation of philological education in Ukraine in the future.
